Lighting a candle can light up one’s life , candles are so therapeutic as the organic contents in a candles results positively in one’s health
It’s a windy autumn day and I am listening to the rain when I write.
So with this weather, I’ve compiled a list of things that can help us all feel a little lighter and happier as we move through the dark.
Create a List
Hands up if you’re a list Creator! Me too, but even if it’s not what you usually put up with me. Making a list of things that make you feel good is a great thing when you don’t feel better. It can hold the smallest things like mine; squeeze the dog, take a shower, put a kettle on, light up a Nushaura candle…you know what I mean? But when we have a difficult period in life, we forget about these little things. And yet, they are so important to how we feel.
Let go of the Past
I see it as a way to let go of the past, things that no longer serve me, and make room for new things that will come into my life. And who doesn’t breathe a little easier and feel more at ease in an organized space? I know I always do that! The therapeutic benefits continue, because as we declutter we make decisions about what to save, donate or recycle — using those decision muscles can help us feel a little more in control and empowering that pulses out into other areas of our life.
Self-Love
What do we most often neglect? Ourselves. You probably get little surprises for your second half and the kids, but when was the last time you collected a bouquet of flowers for yourself or sat down for the whole day — Yes, the whole — and got lost in your last reading? It’s easy to fall into the habit of putting myself last, despite conscious efforts, I still have days when I want to catch up on something at work rather than finish on time to catch up on yoga classes. But keeping our own health and happiness at the center of our actions shouldn’t be something we do from time to time, and it certainly isn’t something we should consider as condescension or a waste of time! After all, if someone wants to judge you for taking a NAP during the day, let them!
Let go off expectations and be in action
I thought about leaving it on the list, because it’s probably a deeper dive topic, and I appreciate that it’s not as easy as it sounds, but I’ll be brief and let you decide for yourself. I have long realized that the expectations we live in have a huge impact on us. Sometimes it’s the expectations we keep about ourselves. If expectations have too much control over your happiness, then it’s time to let them go, it may be a simple thing you think alone or with a good friend, but you can also turn to an alternative therapist for support.
So, there are a few things to get you started. I hope this inspired you to create a little more happiness in your days because I really don’t think there is such a thing as too much.
